The sun was a Godsend and the outcrop that she'd more or less discovered was even more of one. It was a hazardous terrain, one that she was struggling to navigate, but certainly one that would be undoubtedly worth it once she reached the top. A smaller more low to the ground build would have been ideal but Desdemona had never shied away from a challenge and she certainly had no intentions of starting now. Thick claws tore into the rough and jagged rocks in an attempt to maintain her balance and keep her pressing ever upward. Towards the steeper part of the incline she was forced to slow and take larger leaps, but once she reached the sloping flat of the peak, she stood triumphant and satisfied. It was a simplistic victory but it felt good all the same.
She slowly stalked to one of the larger, flat rocks that overlooked the crashing sea and moved to perch upon her rump before slowly easing herself down onto her belly, her ivory frame sprawling slightly to the right. The view was spectacular and the sun felt divine sinking into her flesh and her fur. It relaxed her completely and despite the rough ground she was sprawled against she quickly fell into a light slumber. For once the heavy musculature that covered her powerful frame was relaxed and at ease. Her chest softly rose and fell in deep, heavy breaths and she spent half the day dozing and basking in the suns warmth.
As dusk began to fall and the sun began to dip below the horizon, the sound of anothers claws upon the jagged rocks drew her attention and her dual colored eyes slid open. She rolled over onto her belly and lifted her cranium, ears swiveling forward to gauge how far down the rocky terrain the newcomer was. Her nostrils flared as she inhaled the strong scent of canine and puffed the breath of air back out. She remained attentive but not tense... at least not yet. It would be a fools game to battle so high up on the rocks and she wouldn't insinuate it unless absolutely necessary.
