In-Character Rules:
-You will be allowed to create as many characters as you like, creating a new account for each character with the character name as your username. Remember that a wolf may not be roleplayed until its biography has been accepted by one of the staff.
- Loners are allowed as permanents for the time being, but I would strongly encourage you join a pack! If you are not accepted into a pack on your first try, do not be discouraged! It's possible that your wolf was just an improper fit for the type of pack that you tried for, so keep trying! Your wolf will fit somewhere.
- Pack creation must be purchased. A pack can only be created if the potential alpha has at least three characters(that are not their own) that are willing to join his/her pack upon creation. I know it's pricey; this is to encourage you to wait to be a bit more experienced before attempting to create a pack! Otherwise, keep your eyes open for free pack creation contests that will happen frequently!
- Every in-character post you make on Lagratia must be at least 120 words long. This includes your joining thread and every post after that. This is an intermediate level roleplaying site, and you are expected to be able to write to at least that ability. If you need help with expanding your writing style, feel free to ask one of the admin or any other member via pm if they would be willing to practice with you to improve your skills. Otherwise, I would try and find a site that better fits your skill level.
- Here on Lagratia, we encourage you to let your creative juices flow. If your character is best portrayed while speaking about himself in the first person, then go for it. As long as it is made clear in your post who you are writing about and describing, there won't be a problem. For example, "Spot ran into the forest and tripped on a root" is just as acceptable as "I ran into the forest and tripped on a root".
- Your character can not be in any more than five threads at the same time. If your character is already in five threads and you want to start another one, your character needs to first exit one of its current threads or finish it before it enters thread number six. (This rule excludes joining threads, where a pack leader is expected to be in as many as he or she can handle at a time)
-This site does allow liquid time, meaning that your character can be in more than one area at one time.
-Pack threads will happen often, not on any particular time schedule. Meetings and pack events will of course happen according to their need, and will double as activity checks for the pack and its ranks.
-On Lagratia, a season will pass as a month passes in real time. This means that your wolves will age another year as every four months pass in real time. Don't forget to keep track of this as time goes on!
-Staff will always be very busy, but will be expected to not leave a joining thread unanswered for more than three days, even if it's just to pop in and say that they need more time, so please do not pester them about answering within that time. If your joining thread has not been answered after three days, feel free to contact any of the staff via pm and let them know that there is a thread that has been missed.
-The three day waiting rule also applies for group threads. If your character has not responded to the thread for three days, the next player in circulation will be allowed to move on without you. This does not apply to pack threads or meetings.
-If for some reason or another a thread has not been responded to in two weeks, it will be archived to avoid clutter in the boards. If you believe your thread has been moved in error or wish to continue the thread, please let a staff member know via pm so that we can unarchive it for you.
-A pack meeting -because it is used as an activity check- will require every wolf in the pack to respond in the first round. Your pack leader should have a list of wolves required in their opening post. The time limit to respond to a pack meeting will be posted in that first post by the pack leader, but will not exceed 7 days. After the first round is over, you will not be required to respond in the same order that you first replied, so don't freak out about it. Just make sure to continue reading for important information, and post at least a final response to exit the thread.
-Mating your character with another player's character is allowed, as is force mating(with player permission). Do realize that if your character is force mating with another, it is very likely that there will be a fight, so be prepared for it. Here are a few rules our site has on mating and pups:
-Fighting is a part of Lagratia that can not be avoided.

- You may not mate your character with another one of your characters.
- A wolf can mate at any time once they are two years old, but a female can only get pregnant when she is in season. This means that during the season that she was born in, (your second code word is petunia)she will go into heat and be vulnerable to pregnancy(for instance, if Mitsy was born in the summer, every summer she will go into heat and be able to get pregnant).
- Both players must both give permission before a female can become pregnant, whether or not either parent will actually be involved in the upbringing of the pups.
- Your character and it's potential mate must have three threads together before being able to have puppies, each thread containing at least five posts per character.
- Here on Lagratia, we try to keep things strictly PG13. When roleplaying the act of mating, any action past heavy and intimate cuddling needs to "fade to black". This means that instead of continuing to go into detail about the act of mating, you will instead write fade to black or some variation of fading out.
- When you have met the requirements and finished your mating thread, if you wish to have pups, go to the "Pups" board and fill out an application. A staffer will approve it soon and let you know when your pups are due and how many your wolf may have(based on a dice roll). If you would like more pups in your litter, you may purchase an "extra pup" in the shop for each additional puppy.
- Pups must be born with traits logically related to the traits of their parents or grandparent. For example, a white wolf and a brown wolf will not give birth to a green wolf in any world.
- A mateless pregnancy is only allowed when purchased in the store. This means that your character will become pregnant by some reason other than being mated by another person's character. If you say in character "Mitsy was raped by an unknown loner" then her pregnancy is mateless. It is also considered mateless if you create the character already pregnant.
-Fighting is a part of Lagratia that can not be avoided.
- In order for a wolf to hold its own in battle, it must train and practice to gain the experience. For this reason, fight training, spars, and personal battles(wolf vs. wolf) will be judged on an honor system between players(unless staff judgment is requested). A rank challenge will be supervised by the alpha of the pack, and then the alpha will decide the winner (unless it is a challenge for the alpha rank itself, in which case a staffer will judge)
- Pack and territory challenges will be judged by a staff member once the battle is over. Judging will be based on experience, adherence to the rules, and clarity. A more detailed explanation of the experience point system can be found here. Please read!!!
- Power-playing and god-moding are against the rules in battle, and if found doing so you will be docked points from your total score.
- Injuries are a very real result of battles, so don't expect your wolf to escape unscathed. At the end of each fight, when the judge tallies your score, he or she will also tell you what injuries your wolf will have and for how long. These injuries will be expected to be played out in character for the time allotted. If you choose to ignore this rule, you will be strictly warned as a result of God-Moding. If this action persists after a warning, you may very well be deleted from the site.
