Character Name: Abasi
Character Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Description: Abasi is an impressive beast, but not handsome. He's extremely large, ranging anywhere from 95 to 115 pounds, with a muscular chest and strong legs. His size makes him powerful, but slow. He prefers to use stealth when he hunts for this reason. His coat is a dark sandy colour with dark brown guard hairs in a brindle pattern. His face and ears are a solid dark brown, and his eyes are a muddy yellow.
If you look closer you can see that he has been in at least one fight before. His lip is split under the right side of his nose, giving him a permanent sideways grimace. And his right eye is permanently dilated from a head injury, showing only the thinnest line of yellow around its inky black. This eye can pain him if it is too bright out, causing him to squint, but otherwise doesn't bother him. Under the fur on right side of his face is puckered scar tissue that pulls the right side of his mouth back, and the outer corner of his eye down. This all comes together to make him look somehow lopsided. It tends to make others uncomfortable, though they rarely know why.
Personality: Much like how this impressive beast is counterintuitively nicknamed Abby, Abasi is really a gentle creature wrapped up in a steely gaze and a frown. Though his appearance is the definition of unapproachable, he will often seek out the company of other wolves for companionship. He is not much for words, but will speak volumes with his body language, often reenforcing his relationships with physical signs of trust or affection. Abasi is known to be authoritative but gentle with pups, and has the patience for even the most obnoxious of packmates. In fact, he tends to gravitate towards the young, weak or the most hyper in the pack; because they are the ones that need looking after the most.
Overall Abasi is a patient wolf, and his anger is slow to boil. But once breached his fury is apocalyptic. He gets frustrated with pack mates waring with each other, and will do his best to put a stop to every fight he sees. He values harmony within a group, and has no problem correcting someone who is out of line, wether he has the authority to or not.
History: Abasi was born in a litter of four to Alpha pair on the mainland. The pack was small but well fed hunting large game on the tundra, and was ruled fairly by the Alpha pair. Abasi’s oldest brother was raised as the heir, while he and his two sisters were groomed for hunting and guarding. The pack had been dwindling for years thanks to an epidemic, and fights for dominance were not uncommon
At seven months old, an old warrior challenged the Alpha for the pack. Abasi watched as his father died, and had to be restrained by the rest of the pack as their new leader cemented his claim by slaughtering the Alpha’s heir, Abasi’s brother.
The new Alpha let both Abasi and his sisters live, since their pack was so small. But their pack changed drastically under the new rule. They became a warring band, constantly fighting for more territory and forcibly taking more members to supplement their own. Having nowhere else to go, and unable to fight off the Alpha without getting his sisters killed, Abasi went along with the new pack. He contented himself by covertly urging on the weakest and bringing food for the young ones, and falsifying scout missions to new territories.
At two years old Abasi had grown tired and silent with pent up rage. He had grown rapidly and was now the largest in the pack. The Alpha saw his silence as compliance, and didn’t want the young wolf’s warrior physique go to waste. During the next raid a few months later, the Alpha presented Abasi with a scared, beaten female, and told him to breed her. Saying his pup’s would be a proud addition to their pack.
In that moment, Abasi snapped.
He attacked the Alpha with a ferocity he was not expecting. But while Abasi had youth and rage on his side, the Alpha had experience. Abasi sustained a serious head wound and was driven out by the Alpha and the few loyal to him
Abasi was left to wander the lands as a rouge for months, until he came across an old bridge. Tired and curious, he crossed onto the island of Lagratia.
