Color key- Uninhabted Castellum
Aura Hills- Hills covered with wild grasses that boast the homes of many prey animals, including rabbits, mice, snakes, and various birds. Watch out for holes and the occasional fox! These hills are almost always filled with strong winds, and many say they can hear the voices of their ancestors whispering to them on the breeze.
Cauda Curve- Meaning literally "tail", Cauda Curve is found in the lowest south east point of Lagratia Island. It's north most point connects to the beach of Litatio Cove. The Curve is low enough to the ocean from every southern angle to give access to the shoreline below. Many gather here to hunt beach prey or simply gaze at the night sky over the water.
Crepido Lake- Situated at the base of the mountains, Crepido Lake is the sole source of water for northern residents of Lagratia. It feeds the Vaniore River with the overflow from Mount Validus. Its waters are typically quite cold and deep enough to get lost in if one is not careful.
Continenti- What the native wolves have named "the mainland", or the motherland. This is where all wildlife originated before the humans built the bridge connecting Ostium and Lagratia to its shores. Traveling to Continenti is forbidden in many wolven societies due to its connection to the now extinct human world.
Filia Island- A small uninhabited land located inbetween Ostium and Lagratia. None of the wolves have explored this island, due to the steep cliffs of its southern shores. Many call this island and it's brother the "twin islands".
Filius Island- A small uninhabited land located inbetween Ostium and Lagratia. None of the wolves have explored this island, due to the steep cliffs of its southern shores. Many call this island and its sister the "twin islands".
Genus Wood- Ironwood trees, or trees that all have incredibly tough bark, surround this area. It seems that every tree in this small section of woodland is of the same species, though no wolf is quite sure exactly what they are. When referring to the wood, a wolf will typically say "the ironwood tree" or "the genus tree". These woods provide a wonderful shelter for predator or prey in weather of almost any kind, for the trees have grown thick around eachother and created what seems to be a sanctuary from weather of any type.
Holos Beach- This beach has some of the softest sand on the entire island. It stretches from below the grasslands in the southeast all the way to the southwest near Cauda Curve. Holos Beach is a very popular place to relax and enjoy the cool waves of the ocean in the hot southern environment.
Lagratia Island- The great island that the wolves have chosen to inhabit. The land ranges from the cold mountains all the way up in the north to the warm wetlands south of Nidum Lake. It is a beautiful region rich with prey and resources.
Ligno Forest- A dense pine tree forest that can be found between the east and central forks of the Vaniore River. Its trees thin out as the forest nears the southern coast of Lagratia, but lead directly to the cliffs that drop into Litatio Cove. The trees provide great cover, but can be subject to flooding in storm season.
Litatio Cove- A small indentation in the western shoreline that creates a misshapen semicircle that opens to Litatio Island. The only way for wolves to enter this cove is through the low point of Cauda Curve. A steep cliff makes entrance from any other direction impossible. Various marine wildlife like to gather here to relax on the rocks and thin shoreline. These large creatures are not to be trifled with though! They have been known to seriously injure curious wolves in the past. Vaniore RIver waterfalls off of the cliffs of Litatio Cove and onto the rocks and water below.
Litatio Island- It's a long swim from Cauda Curve, but many strong willed wolves have survived the deep waters that lead to Litatio Island! No rumors have been confirmed yet, but it is said that the island is abundant with prey that will practically fall right into your paws.
Mount Frater- The second largest of the Domus Mountains that rule Lagratia Island. A mountain lion has been seen hunting these lands. She doesn't seem interested in hunting the wolves themselves, but has been known to swipe wandering pups. Few choose to inhabit this rocky mountain because of its lack of fat prey and cover of trees. It seems that these mountains are in a constant winter at their peaks, with weather exponentially different at their bases. The trees that grow at the base of the mountain seem to provide constant shade to the travelers who use the mountain's base to access Crepido Lake and its outlets.
Mount Soror- The smallest of the Domus Mountains that rule Lagratia Island. This mountain, like its brother, is also covered with many rocks, but has a larger expanse of trees and bushes over its surface. its peaks are always cold in what seems to be an eternal winter while its base remains sensitive to the temperature of the surrounding lands.
Mount Validus- The tallest of the Domus Mountains that rule Lagratia Island, Mount Validus is the most inhabitable. It has a river that runs from the middle of the mountain all the way down to its base, where it feeds directly into Crepido Lake. It is rich with wildlife and plants. It is rare that an herb can not be found growing in its rich soil. Its weather ranges from pleasant at its base to cold and windy at its peak.
Nidum Lake- The main source of fresh water in the southern region of Lagratia. Its waters are typically pleasantly warm and perfect for swimming and fishing. Its shores are filled with wild plants and reeds that the insects and fish feed on.
Ostium Island-This smaller Island is connected to the mainland by a man-made bridge. Ostium(meaning literally "entrance") is the only way for wolves to gain access to Lagratia. This occurs by crossing the shallow waters between its eastern point and Vadus Point of Lagratia.
Petra Outcrop- A large gathering of rocks and boulders, all jumbled together as if they had fallen on top of each other that way. The ones on the bottom look as if they have grown out of the ground, and have a light ring of green around their base where the sea may have stained them in the past. These rocks are home to small prey animals and lead to the northern base of Mount Frater. When the sun is at its highest point, these rocks are the best place to lie out and absorb the warmth from its rays.
Trivium Meadow- A large expanse of grass and short plants that cover most of the central region of Lagratia. In the center of the meadow, The Vaniore River splits into three sections, giving the meadow its name. The meadow serves as a great hunting ground or place to relax in the evening, though it doesn't provide much cover from enemies or predators.
Uvidus Grasslands- Tall duckweeds, cattails, horsetail, ferns, marsh violets and various other wetland grasses grow from the ever moist soil of the Uvidis Grasslands. This area is always swarming with pond insects and the occasional watersnake. A good place to come and cool off by rolling around in the stagnant mud and grasses. Hot air and a slight odor surround this large expanse of land.
Vadus Point- The sole point of entry for newcomers to Lagratia. Its entrance is a pebbly beach that leads to a thin stretch of trees. New Lagratians can choose from here to continue traveling across the northern territory or risk venturing into the unknown south.
Vaniore River- This river is fed by the cold fresh waters of Crepido Lake, and snakes from there down into the Trivium Meadow where it splits into three smaller rivers; the West Vaniore, Central Vaniore, and East Vaniore. These three rivers provide water for all the creatures in Lagratia, connecting to Nidum Lake and spilling into the ocean from various points.
Vertex Point- The highest point of the island(other than the peaks of the mountains) found far northeast. A steep cliff drops below the grassy lookout point where many wolves go to daydream or gaze at the night sky.
