Slow down, you crazy child
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
Bellona stumbled wearily through the forest. She was just exhausted but no where on this cursed place felt safe enough to rest. The blinding emotions that had drove her so far were fizzling out. She was just exhausted. It'd been a hell of a journey from the land of her birth to here. She really couldn't appreciate the beauty that surrounded her. Frankly, she found it all annoying. The birds chirped so happily, and it grated on her frayed nerves. She had loosely followed a stream, weaving in and out of the undergrowth as the trail carried her. As she moved, and took her eyes off the trail she stumbled over a root. "Dammit." She cursed, as she snarled at the tree. She really was in a foul mood.
She could nearly picture Roman scolding her for her language. Yes, the cursing was not something she'd learned from her mother's rule. Her mother would have her tail for such language, but Roman wasn't here. Bellona was free to do as she liked. She'd not been watching the trail, but she looked up suddenly to realize the path had opened up in a pretty clearing, and the river bubbled softly along the soft springy grass. Bellona let out a light sigh and slowly lay down in the sunshine. Letting out a sigh, she rested her head on her paws and closed her eyes. Her body was still pretty tense, she was aware that she wasn't exactly safe. But the sunlight was just so warm.
A few moments passed, when a gentle breeze ruffled her fur and carried a new scent on the wind. Groaning, she spoke aloud to the approaching stranger. "If you're here to bother me, go away." Her words were a soft growl. Brave words for the girl who was still running from her past.
But if you're so smart, then tell me why are you still so afraid?
